I have been installing CNC cylinder support since 2016 on a wide range of engine with only great result.

A CNC cylinder support is a 1/2″ thick CNC machined plate made out of 6061-T6 aluminum added to any open deck engine to strengthen the weaker top portion where the sleeves tends to crack.

Installing a support is done in a few simple step to ensure the press-fit is dialed in all around and that no area is left unsupported.

Prepping the support plate

Each cylinder support plate is first CNC machined to pre-determined and precise measurement. Coolant holes are also drilled at this stage and a small chamfer is added all around to help inserting the plate in the engine block.

Prepping the engine block

Engine block are machined to the exact shape of the support plate until the corresponding Go & No-Go gauge confirm the engine and support plate has the proper press-fit dialed in. Another small chamfer is added to help insertion.

Installing and final machining

The plate is pressed in the engine and the remaining portion of the support plate is machined away. A coolant groove is added all around for proper coolant distribution. The engine will need to be decked after installation.

In order to install a CNC cylinder support in your engine I must absolutely be supplied with an empty engine block, no main caps, dowel or stud. Canadian customer can send their engine directly to me in Sherbrooke, Quebec. United States customer can send their engine to my USA shipping address located in Vermont.
