The 900 engine from BRP is very popular and a lot of performance upgrade are starting to come out to get more horsepower. One ihnerent problem of the intake design is the lack of Vacuum/Boost reference source, either for installing a Blow Off Valve (BOV) or for a boost gauge. Sure you can drill and tap on your expensive plastic intake or use one of these shim that install in 5 minutes.
There’s other solution already offered on the market that works well on the Ski-Doo platform but this map sensor shim was specifically designed to fit the LYNX platform with the much narrower side panel; no contact and no grinding required. It will obviously fit any 900T or 900R engine in the Ski-Doo platform too. It is the thinnest map sensor shim available at just .600″ thick. With the saved height, the air intake temperature sensor located at the map sensor tip is still located inside the manifold like on the stock application. This would allow the air intake temperature sensor to react much faster to intake temperature change and like any speed density based fuel injection engine, this data is very important for proper fuel and ignition timing calculation.
